Patriots Moving to Hartford
(11/23/1998)

Read the special edition of Clint's Corner, and comments from fans and others regarding the move.

Do you think there's a double standard when it comes to state money for infrastructure or "other" ventures? Here's a list of appropriations made during Tom Finneran's term:

  • The FleetCenter got tens of millions of public dollars to construct its underground garage.
  • The Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield was built with a $25 million subsidy.
  • The Lowell Spinners are playing in a new ballpark that was built with $8 million of public money.
  • The formerly public land at Fort Devens was handed over to Gillette and is being used as a warehouse.
  • The formerly public land at the South Weymouth Naval Air Base is being developed as a mall by a private corporation.
  • A bill that provided $85 million to raise bridges along railroad lines so the railroad companies could "double stack" their containers.
